this is likely something that needs to be fixed by Denon. do they have a support
forum and are other users reporting the same issue?

When I move a group of songs to the play area on the right-hand panel and select the "play-to" drop-down item, my DLNA compatible AV controller appears. When I select it, a new window opens, and the first song on the list begins playing on the AV device. Fine.
The problem is that song just keeps repeating. It doesn't matter whether the "repeat" control is turned on or off. I can click on any song in the list and it happily plays that song - over and over and over :-(
If I select a saved playlist from the DLNA client, it plays just fine and doesn't repeat. Unfortunately, I want to control the device from WMP, not from the panel of the DLNA client.
Help appreciated.

Not sure about your specific Sony model Chris, but there're tons of frustrated Denon users. Not sure about newer models but older Denon models ending xx08 are not de-certified as DLNA devices.
I have a WDTV Live & Xbox 360, both certified DLNA devices & WMP Play To works just fine.
Perhaps you should try upgrading the firmware on your Sony.
It is NOT denon, I have the exact same problem in WMP 12, going to a Sony stereo. It was skipping to the next song, then one MS update and gone....
Hope Microsoft fix this properly and then promote this feature... better than Sonos and apple airplay if it worked.
Thanks Bill for the update. I think we can finally lay this problem to rest. It's definitely a Denon issue.
Eric - you are a STAR.... I also went through hours of frustration trying to resolve this issue on my AVR-5308 receiver to no avail even after contacting Denon.
I used the procedure you outlined here of changing "Repeat All" and "Random On" while a song was playing. Unfortunately it did not reset automatically as your note said,, but after my heart falling thinking it wasn't going to work on my model, I manually turned Repeat and Random off while it continued to stream songs and it seems to be working correctly for the first time in the past two and a half years.
In summary,, your procedure seems to resolve this problem, but if the reset at the end doesn't work automatically, try doing it manually and hopefully everyone can get past this issue finally.
Thank you.
