"Play-to" network device keeps repeating same song

When I move a group of songs to the play area on the right-hand panel and select the "play-to" drop-down item, my DLNA compatible AV controller appears. When I select it, a new window opens, and the first song on the list begins playing on the AV device. Fine.

The problem is that song just keeps repeating. It doesn't matter whether the "repeat" control is turned on or off. I can click on any song in the list and it happily plays that song - over and over and over :-(

If I select a saved playlist from the DLNA client, it plays just fine and doesn't repeat. Unfortunately, I want to control the device from WMP, not from the panel of the DLNA client.

Help appreciated.

this is likely something that needs to be fixed by Denon. do they have a support

forum and are other users reporting the same issue?

    The DNP cannot be configured to disable AirPlay but I think I found the problem although there might have been multiple problems. I installed another media player, Kinsky, and it was stuck repeating the same song. I then tried some things on the DNP, including power cycling, turning random on and off, turning repeat on and off and then Kinsky would play a song and stop, rather than play the list of songs. I then took another look at WMP. WMP has several streaming options. One is "Automatically allow devices to play my media..." and another is "Allow Remote Control of My Player....". I guess I turned the second one off at some point. I am guessing that when a song was played via "Play to", when it was complete the DNP could not ask for the next song because it wasn't allowed to control my player. Things seem to be working again.

    Thanks. The firmware is up to date and it is probably a coincidence but the DNP worked fine until the latest update. I'll look into disabling AirPlay but I'm not sure I have that option.

    I guess this isn't the place to troubleshoot your DNP but might I suggest, upgrading the firmware & deactivate AirPlay support just in case it's interfering with DLNA?

    Not so fast. I've got a Denon DNP-720AE media streamer. Notice that magic word Denon? Worked like a champ for a couple months either when playing from it or to it. Then WMP Play To wouldn't work at all  but going through the network setup again on the DNP fixed that. Then WMP Play To kept repeating the same song. Trying some of the suggestions above didn't fix it so now I am trying to find something that will.

    BTE, this device comes with an app for an iPad or iPhone (I just call them collectively iToys). If you want an exercise in frustration, try the app. Again, worked for awhile then got itself into a state where it can't even find the DNP. The app is just stuck in that state and there is no way to go forward or backward. Removing and reinstalling the app won't even get it out of that state. Like I said, an exercise in frustration. I guess the Denon corporate motto is "Great ideas, lousy implementations."
