"Play-to" network device keeps repeating same song

Guys,

I think the discussion got into two different directions. First, is the issue with the PlayTo repeating the same song over and over again. I do not know the Denon device, but I would suspect it is not updating the item every time when PlayTo tries to set a new URI for playback. However, more intriguing is that the WMP DMR does the same thing, which I have never encountered before. I have only one explanation for this: WMP DMR Repeat control is ON, so it does things on its own, regardless of what PlayTo is trying to do. The Denon may have a similar settings though, but I am not sure. To nail them down, it would be probably better to get WireShark traces and discover how the devices are talking to each other. 

For doing that, you need to install Wireshark on the PlayTo machine, start capturing traces while doing your scenario and then stop capturing. It would be great if you could sent those to me for analyzing. (Barb, do you think you could help me out with this?)

If not, then you will need to analyze traces by yourself, looking for #SetAvTransportURI, #Play and #GetPositionInfo requests. However, lets make sure first that WMP has no repeat option on. Could you verify that for me?

I've got a ton of mp3's that I ripped with various versions of Windows Media

Player. I can create playlists or drag a group into the windows. They all play

to my devices (Samsung TV, Sonos speakers) and other Windows 7 machines as

expected. I'd like to know more about the individual song files (how they were

ripped and what format) and how the playlist was created.

>I can confirm that using "Play to" to another windows 7 PC has the same behavior.  I have a playlist of 70 songs and after about 5 songs it will just keep playing the same one repeatedly.  You can manually move it to the next song, but then that song will loop as well.
