this is likely something that needs to be fixed by Denon. do they have a support
forum and are other users reporting the same issue?

When I move a group of songs to the play area on the right-hand panel and select the "play-to" drop-down item, my DLNA compatible AV controller appears. When I select it, a new window opens, and the first song on the list begins playing on the AV device. Fine.
The problem is that song just keeps repeating. It doesn't matter whether the "repeat" control is turned on or off. I can click on any song in the list and it happily plays that song - over and over and over :-(
If I select a saved playlist from the DLNA client, it plays just fine and doesn't repeat. Unfortunately, I want to control the device from WMP, not from the panel of the DLNA client.
Help appreciated.

sorry for the delay.
back in April, you mentioned that your music was stored on a WHS box. Do you
have the same issue with tracks stored on a W7 box locally and streamed to the
Denon?
there are all kinds of interpretations for the word "compatible" and even
"certified". A device could be certified as a DMP (digital media player) but not
a DMR, etc. I don't know why a device would be removed.
Have you tried asking Denon support why your device is no longer on the official
Microsoft list? A manufacturer escalating would have more impact than an end
user. In fact, the request for certification must come from the manufacturer.

Thanks - I think that's the best we can hope for.
I can attempt to bring this thread to the attention of someone at Microsoft, but
no promises that anyone will respond.

I just looked on the Denon website and they report that the receiver is System 7 Certified http://ca.denon.com/ca/product/Pages/Product-Detail.aspx?CatId=3d9614d1-8000-4106-ab91-8192242cab83&SubId=40b5820d-83c2-4e93-9909-60aae60e0bdd&ProductId=e090f9c8-98d5-41b9-8f03-0b2a17016964 . But, the Microsoft site you sent link to doesn't list the receiver, so there is an inconsistency. Does System 7 Certified imply that it should work with Windows Media Server within Windows 7 or does it just mean it works with Windows 7 but potentially only other media players?
