In Win 7, when I move a window near the edge of the screen, the window expands to full screen.  How do I turn off this feature?

Hi

When you move a window near the edge of the screen, the action that initiates the Aero Snap feature is when the mouse pointer contacts the edge of the screen. You can disable this feature.

Open Control Panel / Ease of Access Center / Make the Mouse easier to use.

Place a check mark in the Prevent Windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen option.

Apply/OK.

    indeed..., unfortunately that's not the only annoying feature ! It looked  like they got together bunch of smart kids and asked them to really think hard and come up with some useless annoying "tricks", well whatever happened, it was successful. Everything looks very modern (Macintosh like), but it's overdone. E.g. anytime I plug in USB stick, annoying message comes up. They should come up with some BASIC windows feature mode. It's like MS Office word, took me like 20 min. to find one of the most useful command

    • "select all". Before they release these software, why they don't let it test by some normal ordinary humans.

    Push the Start Key, then open settings.  Click Multitasking then under Snap if the top button where it says, "Arrange windows automatically ..." is on click to turn it off.

    Also right click the Start key then open Control Panel.  Click "Ease of

    Access", then click "Change how your mouse works".  Then if the box next to where it says Prevent windows from being automatically ... " is not checked, check it.

    I make use of the feature where it resize windows to half screen when I drag to the right or left.

    The top of the screen is just useless and irritating. Is there anyway I keep it from maximizing when I drag to the top of the screen, while keeping the left/right edge feature intact? I am not opposed to whipping out a hex editor if I have to, but I'd prefer to limit this to the registry if possible.

    This is amongst the massive list of annoyances keeping me from upgrading at home. And the windows 8 preview is making wonder if linux really is an option after all. My PC is not a phone, and I don't want to re-write every known piece of code to accommodate your recently ever-shifting underlying infrastructure.
