Teredo tunneling pseudo interface shows a yellow exlamation mark in Device Manager. Windows 7 Ultmate 64

I have just completed a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 on my system and all is well except for a yellow exclamation mark showing in Device Manager under "Network adapters" and against the item "Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface" 

Looking under the properties for this device shows "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"

I haven't got any idea on what this device is or does.

Could someone please advise on this problem.

First thing I would like to suggest you is to uninstall and reinstall the device from device manager and verify if the yellow exclamation mark disappears.

You can also try updating your network driver by following these steps:

  • Right click the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface
  • Update Driver Software...
  • Browse my computer for driver software
  • Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
  • Select from the list and update the driver.

Also you may get this mark because the network adapter may not be compatible with Windows 7. Request you to contact the manufacturer’s website and download the latest driver/adaptor that is compatible with Windows 7.

    DMA, Direct Memory Access, I literaly stumbled upon it while trying to find out why?   I was being prompted with the same error code. Teredo Tunneling Device.  I found it through the device manager and reinstalled it, then had to update all associated drivers

    Hello, I know this a bit of an old post, but I had the same problem just today "Had", here's how to fix it, open control panel click "view devices & printers under Hardware and Sound ", right click the device that has the label of your computer name ("the image that looks like a thin client PC").

    Click Properties

    Click The Tab "Hardware"

    Select Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface From The List (should be at the top)

    Click Properties Button

    Another Window Opens -

    Click Change Settings

    Once Clicked That Window Will Automatically Close & Another Window Will Open

    Click The Tab "Driver"

    Then Click Uninstall

    And That Should Do It, It Worked For Me & The Icon/Device Still Remains But without The Exclamation Mark. :)
