I can't use programs that require .NET Framework.

I'm trying to use a program that has previously worked flawlessly. This program is called GHTCP, which is used with Guitar Hero 3 PC. It requires .NET Framework 2.0 or higher to use. All of sudden, the program just stopped working. I asked to program creator about this, and he said that it sounds like a .NET Framework so here I am.

I'm running Windows Vista. I've tried uninstalling and then installing .NET Framework 3.0 but thats not working. I found that .NET Framework is part of the OS so I can't remove it. Is there any way aside from repairing/reinstalling Windows that I can fix this?

    That's not working either. The instructions for one say I should have a folder in Program Files called "Debugging Tools For Windows" so I can't use that. Also, if you didn't notice, the program I had to install was for Windows 7 and .NET 4.0.

    I'm on the edge of reinstalling the OS at this point.

    Yes. I restarted the service and tried again and it still didn't work. Its set to automatic too.

    EDIT: Why did the mod move this to a Windows 7 when I said I was using Vista?

    Please download this registry file from my SkyDrive:

    http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/LocalDumps.reg

    and import it by making a double click on the .reg file.

    Now start Guitar Hero 3 PC and when the program crashes, the Windows Error reporting service creates a dmp file in the folder C:\localdumps.

    Followed your steps but there was no localdumps folder on C:. It crashed like always but it didn't create a log.

    Also, small correction to your post. Its not Guitar Hero 3 PC that's crashing, its the add-on program that is. The program is ghtcp.exe.
