I've lost the USB transceiver for my wireless keyboard/mouse set, trying to find out where I can get a replacement for it without having to get a whole new keyboard & mouse just for that one transceiver.

Microsoft Natural Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard 7000

Transceiver says "Microsoft 2.4GHz Transceiver v2.0"

thanks!

I talked with Microsoft today and, yes, the person who answered stated that there are NO replacements for the receiver, and I would have to buy a new set up.  After asking to talk to someone who had some technical knowledge and getting no where, I asked for a supervisor.  I was on hold for several minutes, but I was not going to give up.  Finally a supervisor answered and after explaining that I knew something about computers, he offered to send me a whole new unit, free of charge.  And to top that off, he said he would expidite the order and it would ship to me in 1 - 3 days.

The number that I called is 800-360-7561, option 2.  Make sure that you ask to talk to a supervisor, as the people that answer haven't a clue.  They just read off of a script.  I hope that this helps someone out there.  Microsoft wants to keep their ccustomers and WILL do what it takes to keep them.

Have a great day.

After losing my transceiver I called the number recommended 800-360-7561 option 2 and spoke with an efficient representative who didn't even request proof of purchase - I gave her the PIN and she processed an order to ship me a new wireless keyboard (Microsoft Sculpt) and expedited as well. Didn't need to request to speak to a supervisor. Was pleasantly surprised :-)

Got a suggestion to MS that can solve this dilemma of pairing the Mouse/KB with USB receiver. MS should stop pairing the USB receiver directly with the mouse/kb. What they should do is to manufacture a mouse/kb that have a micro-card (similar to a SIM card or SD card) slot, then have

the USB receiver to pair with a micro-card. The micro-card is inserted in the mouse/kb and should then work with that receiver.

This way if the USB receiver is lost/damaged, you can simply order a new USB receiver/micro-card pair.

    Hello,

Try contacting the Microsoft Supplemental Parts Department at 800-360-7561 they are open Monday through Friday, 5:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. PST. :-)

Very helpful!! Thanks for that # :) you have to send in your broken one at your own shipping cost but they send you a brand new one free. Since I'm the one who broke it and it's been a year since I bought it and I can use my lap top key board for now, I think this is very fair.
