Oh wow! Thankfully i saw this!
I just recieved a call by them today telling me that the windows update i did on my vista gave some errors on my system and it came to their "attention" that they believe my system may be corrupted and they can help me etc, furthermore he said my waranty
has expired, a waranty for activation on windows?...Please. A guy with an indian accent with a pretty heavy one, asked me to go on run command and type in cmd for the command prompt, and to type in ASSOC and locate my CSLID key on the bottom, he conveniently
repeated the key one by one to me, i dont know how he knew it but he did lol. Afterwards he told me to type eventvwr on run command to access the event viewer and click on the windows logs - system, and told me to look for errors, as "these" errors have manipulated
and corrupted my system...lol and i need to fix it.
So he took me that logmein123 website and gave me the six digit number and there we have it, remote session established. Some "Microsoft Certified Technician" (wow it was so anoying the way he says it!!!) called Mark requested for my name, phone number and
email address (to verify if its really me...), so i gave it and then the "technician" went on run command and typed inetcpl.cpl and resetted the internet options. Afterwards he went on filehippo.com (lol) and downloaded CCleaner (which i already have...) and
Advanced System Care (again...already have =.=). Registry cleaned with ccleaner and scanned on advanced system care (but did not clean it).
After that boring and slow moment, they finaly got my attention, when they asked me to go this particular website (cant remember it) and told me to fill up a form with my bank details so that i can get a new waranty for my windows activation (never heard
of it to be honest lol) for £60. As soon as i heard that, i refused to go any further, BUT they are so pushy!! I mean wow! Regardless how many times i say no, they just wont stop! They litteraly push you to a corner untill you listen to them! Geez. They asked
to speak with my mom but i told him she doesent speak English as she speaks Bengali, so they got a Bengali person to speak to her LOL....its like.....how far can you guys go? Immediately with fustration shouted at them with a BIG FAT NO and hanged the phone,
yet they still wanted me to pay £60 for a waranty =)....Fantastic.
~Edit~ Forgot to add, i told them they are a scam and that i dont trust them, the guy started to panic (lol) and told me to go on google and type in Microsoft Partners directory and go on that, he then told me to type in Smart Solution on the search box
and i stupidly asked if their name is "iTech Smart Solution Co., Ltd. " - which is located in Thailand in bangkok city. This was
the first name that popped up on that search. Obviously he said yes. Also he gave the phone to his "manager" so that he can talk to me and sound more smart with me by talking technical, yay social engineerrringgggg =) But yeah he gave me this number (02081339482)
saying it is the support number if i require "help".
