Problem Event Name: BEX, error message

Hi,

I'm working on a tool which is used mainly for replacing the data source location of Crystal XI report batch, this tool is working normally, but when trying to replace data source location of some reports and mainly when looping on report tables to replace the data source of each table, a Bex error is raised

by the way, DEP feature is disabled using command ==>  bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

so

i need to know what is BEX error ?

why this error is raised when working with some reports not all of them?

how can i disable or work around this problem?

Could you please provide some more information? I have included a snapshot of a BEX error for your reference. Please post the snap shot so that I can get you the resolution.

    i found a fix for the issue...

    . right click your app

    . go to compatibility tab

    . Enable Run as administrator

    . choose run your program compactible for win xp serveice pack 2

    . click ok

    This fixed my app crash and BEX issue..

    I had encountered the same problem with the server at work, Windows Server 2008 R2, when trying to execute a program. 

    The solution is simple, go to the start menu -> Control Panel -> System (window will pop up)

    Find the Advanced tab -> click on Performance Settings (name of button is Settings)

    Click on Data Execution Prevention (DEP) tab

    Make sure that the radio button has the selection "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only"

    Restart the server or computer and that should do it.

    when you run the program again after restart you should not have any more problems.

    I've tried both "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" and the "except for" option with the programs I'm having problems with - Word and Excel.  Neither worked.  Any other suggestions?  Has anyone tried the Longbow program for non-CAD files?  Does it work for all types or just CAD files?  At this point, I'll pay a bit more to get this resolved.  I spent 3 hours on the phone with Microsoft support yesterday and in the end, they didn't fix it and just hung up on me.  Between that and the constant annoyance with the actual files, I'm totally frustrated with the whole thing.
