Hi community users,
Thanks for posting to Getting Ready for Windows 7.
In addition to some of the steps provided, I wanted to present some information that may be helpful in the circumstances experienced. A long with the information under the Library tab that David, and some of the other Microsoft Moderators have suggested,
also, from Organize, Options, Player Tab, Privacy tab, there are many attributes that you may like to adjust as well.
The Player tab has the option to perform Updates Once a Day, Once a Week or Once a Month. Verify the setting you preference is selected in that tab. Also, you may want to uncheck Add Local Media files to the library when played or Connect to the Internet
if this item is selected. This should be user preference so do this adjustment at your own discretion.
From the Privacy Tab, many Enhanced Playback and Device Experience options may need adjusted to assist in troubleshooting whether some of these options are contributing to the issue experienced. You may want to uncheck all of those options and if it resolves
the issue, add them back one at a time to help isolate which setting actually resulted in the issue.
Under the Privacy Tab, in Windows 7 RC, you will also find the "Windows Media Center Customer Experience Improvement Program". You may want to deselect it to see if this helps in obtaining play on the files without issue.
One other observation to take into consideration, the files being checked are also being check for DRM compliance. The check will take a various amount of time and then try to check again if it does not resolve the DRM compliance on files. This may be
something to consider as these updates are being done.
Please keep us advised involving this if further suggestions or information are needed for assistance.
