i finally found a solution!
I have been having the same issues reported on this fourm(just trying to load MP3), i have tried EVERYTING suggested by MS and others to no avail... I have spent 2 weeks trying to get this fixed. I have rebuilt, restored, reguritated everything and exhausted
every option! I even tried to "downgrade" to WMP 11.
On my final attempt, i formatted my drive and did a clean new install of W7. I did all the updates - clean, new - nothing but pure W7. I started WMP and added my music disk to the music library. It started off updating my media library with great speed
- then completly stalled at around 55000 songs... I waited for an hour and finally it said UPDATE COMPLETE! yeah... I was excited! I when to browse my collection by artist and it said
"There are no items in your music library".
SOLUTION - i went to the store, paid big $$$$ for a mac (my first), loaded my music, pictures and videos with NO PROBLEM AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY!!!
I now have a nice Windows 7 PC for surfing the internet. There is a serious issue with WMP/WMC - such a shame because W7 is a great product but your Media Division wrecked it completely. I am NOT a fan of apple, have always used MS products, But thanks
to WMP12, apple has another convert...
Someone in this post stated "I to am having problems with WMP12. But suggestions of sending the box back or getting a Mac are overkill." and i agree. it is overkill, stupid and expensive
BUT IS WAS MY ONLY SOLUTION.
