Trying to watch netflix movies and getting an error code of 6003: silverlight does not seem to be working.

I talked to a netflix technical assistant tonight and he tried to help me with this problem, but was unsuccessful.  The error code I receive from Netflix is N8156-6003.  He walked me through many different procedures to fix the problem and nothing seems to be working.  He even directed me to try tinyurl.com/netflixsl and after the individualizing it goes to opening and stays there.  My laptop is on 8 months old and is not used very often, not sure what the issue is, Netflix seems to think it is a problem with microsoft, please help.

After loading the page to watch a video, right click the applet, then click Silverlight.

On the Playback tab ensure that the “Enable download...” option is selected.

On the Application Storage tab, click Delete all to clear any cached files.

    Netflix Error Code N8156-6003

    Netflix do not want to use Silverlight version 3, they will insist that you upgrade and that will be to Silverlight version 4.  So the removal of the mspr.hds file in

    C:\Application Support\Microsoft\PlayReady\ mspr.hds”, was the fix for me.

    I did however rename the file just to be sure that it would work before deleting it.

    BTW, it worked also on Win7 64-bit, Silverlight 5.0.61118.0

    Ok so I fixed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for now. All I did was go into IE internet options. Under trusted sites I typed http://www.netflix.com

    Found that on another forum and thought "thats too easy" and afterwards I loaded a netflix movie. Freaking stupid! I have been at this for days. And thats all it was? Im sure a new problem will arise. Good luck. Let me know if that works for you.

    Still no good. I put every version of netflix, https, http, *.netflix, movies.netflix.com, www.netflix.com into the trusted site box.  Same message.  Uninstalled and reinstalled.  Same message.  Firefox.  Same message. iexplore as administrator. Same message. Deleted cached files. Enabled download. Run As Admin. Nothing works.

    WHAT IS IT?!?!?!? Years of netflix working just fine, and now AARGHH!

    How To fix

    Find and delete the file mspr.hds

    Enjoy your movie

    Windows C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady\mspr.hds

    Linux + Virtualbox [XP+Firefox] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\PlayReady\mspr.hds

    Mac /Library/Application Support/Microsoft/PlayReady/mspr.hds

    Note: If you get an error message, make sure Netflix is closed in your browser.
