Trying to watch netflix movies and getting an error code of 6003: silverlight does not seem to be working.

I talked to a netflix technical assistant tonight and he tried to help me with this problem, but was unsuccessful.  The error code I receive from Netflix is N8156-6003.  He walked me through many different procedures to fix the problem and nothing seems to be working.  He even directed me to try tinyurl.com/netflixsl and after the individualizing it goes to opening and stays there.  My laptop is on 8 months old and is not used very often, not sure what the issue is, Netflix seems to think it is a problem with microsoft, please help.

Hello, Nea5577

After loading the page to watch a video, right click the applet, then click Silverlight.

On the Playback tab ensure that the “Enable download...” option is selected.

On the Application Storage tab, click Delete all to clear any cached files.

Called Netflix this is what they told me to do. In windows xp go to start then run type in %allusersprofile% press enter. A new menu will show up look for the folder name Application Data click on it, then look for folder Mircosoft click on it, click on folder named Playready then delete file MSPR.hds. Restart Netflix and it should work did for me. Good luck.

I tried every suggested fix here and still the error persists...  Is anyone from Microsoft or netflix working on this?  Only seems to be a problem with windows 7 on my part.

    Help..

Well, called Netflix and they have a soulution that worked for me in win7.

Close browsers and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady and delete the mspr.hda file in that folder.  Reopen browser and relaunch netflix and it works.  Hope this helps someone else.

I can confirm this fix works as described. Just ran it on a friend's computer (Windows 7), and it did fix the specific error code referenced in the OP.

I too had this problem. I closed In private browsing and reopened IE, Netflix / Silverlight then worked.

I assume it had something to do with cookies, but did not delve any deeper.

    Silverlight gives a superior playback.

Since this worked for me, I have not seen the error number to record it. Time w/o netfilx and fix = as long as it took to load other IE.

+1 who tried everything here and still can't watch anything on Netflix. Running XP as administrator, Firefox 6.0, deleted mspr.hds, etc etc.
