unable to delete songs in windows media player

The song files are already deleted off of my recycle bin but i can not delete them off of windows media player. when i click on them they say "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. If you are trying to play, burn, or sync an item that is in your library, the item might point to a file that has been moved, renamed, or deleted." I have had this problem before and i figured out how to delete them but i have no idea how i did it. i can't remember.

This is the reply that I received that solved my problem.

Hi,

This might be because of the corruption in Windows Media Player. Let’s try rebuilding the Media library and check if that helps.

** Shutdown windows media player. 

** Stop the media sharing service.  Go to Start >> Type in Services.msc in start search >> Right-click on the “Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service” and select Stop.

** Navigate to “c:\Users\”your username”\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player.  Now delete the files named CurrentDatabase_***.wmdb and LocalMLS_*.wmdb. 

** Start the media sharing service.

** Now start Windows Media Player and watch it build up your library again.

    The problem is that I can't find that appdata folder :( I think I deleted it ages ago :$

    you no you said to click on  the folder to access username to delete  current database *** wmdb well could you tell how to do this please as my partner just got new comp windows 7 and we are both not used to it he is partialy sighted so im trying to do it for him as he wants to burn music on to cd but same error msg coming player cannot find file please could someone help pretty please. ty

    And just when I was about to put my fist through my monitor, I find this posted question from Bell Lara and the subsequent answer! Thank you, thank you, a thousand times, thank you!

    It took a few seconds for the directions to sink in but, I finally got my brain wrapped around it and, Viola...Media Player and library are back to normal!
