ERROR CODE 80072EFE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO UPDATE IN WINDOWS UPDATE MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. McAFEE installed after win security ess. uninstalled. several problems w/  programs " not responding" constantly and pc running very slow.  compaq presario  SR5550F

    @Kitcomei: How did your computer get infected with the rootkit? Why didn't your anti-virus & anti-spyware applications protect the computer from getting infected? Do any other infections remain on the computer?

    Thanks so much for your help. i tried all the microsoft methods and none of them worked, then i saw your post and it worked in less than 5 minutes.  This was a huge help. looks to me like Microsoft needs to do some outside contracting if they don't know what they are talking about

    dear ramesh asari, thank you for your information was succesfull, my computer now take the updated after weeks of searches you came with the anwser. again thank you for you knowledge. your friend luis a perez (jupiter57) the problem with the 80072efe was fix thanks to you was infected with a rootkits.
