Hi,

Ive installed a clean copy of Windows7 64bit, on a formatted HD. I am unable to run WEI.

I updated the BIOS for my M3A79-T DELUXE to the latest (1303 rev). Installed all latest drivers for the hardware and latest Windows update.

I have ran c: CHKDSK /F /R /X (Ive seen on a website this has resolve the issue for one person)

checked all hardware is installed ok and there are no conflicts in device manager.

Windows Experience Index has a log file "%SystemRoot%\Performance\WinSAT\winsat.log". That may give some relevant details.

I had the same error message and, in my case, the log file reported "Unable to save". It appears to have been Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 which was blocking WEI from saving the results. The complete WEI test ran OK and even flashed-up the 'completed' message but this was then immediately replaced with the "assessment could not be completed" message ... because it could not *save* the results.

Can I suggest you try another AV package? If you disconnect the network cable you could safely uninstall your existing AV package and see if WEI works again. If that resolves it, perhaps you need a different AV package from now on.

Personally, I found that Microsoft Security Essentials appears to not have this issue and I can now get my rating again. But I may try some other (try before you buy) packages to see what's best.

Worth a try?

Keith.

Hello Everyone,

For those with Kaspersky and this issue, an article was recently released by Kaspersky with their fix for the issue:

Thanks!

    Hi Guys,

I know this is a old thread, but I was having this problem, tried all the possible solutions on this thread and none of them worked, so I kept looking for an solution and found a solution on another forum.

So basically, I am running win7 ultimate 64 bits, i've never used kaspersky (I use Microsoft Security Essentials). The drivers are also updated. Additionally, I use 2 partitions on my HD, and linked my user folder on the second partition (to keep my stuff safe)

Here are the steps that worked for me:

1- disable Microsoft Security Essentials (both the scheduled scan and real-time protection)

    2- Turn off Windows Firewall

3- Hard setting the environmental variables to

    D:\Andre\AppData\Local\Temp instead of %SYSTEMROOT%\Temp &

    %USERPROFILE%\MyUser\AppData\Local\Temp to D:\Andre\AppData\Local\Temp

I believe only the third step is necessary, but since I did all of this before trying, that's it.

After do the changes, run WEI and voi-la.

Got the error too, and the problem was my computer time.

When I just installed new motherboard, and launched windows, the time was not on my timezone, but I did not see it and run the experience index test.

Then, I switched my SSD from IDE to AHCI, and wanted to do the WEI test again, and got the error. I figured out that "Last update: 19/06/2014 02:20:34" was in the future, cause it was only 01:20:34 where I live.

Changing my timezone worked (because I didn't want to wait... ;)) !

I do not have Kaspersky, however, I renamed the DataStore folder to DataStoreold and re-ran it and it worked. It re-created the DataStore Folder.

BINGO! That got it for me.

Sometimes the most simplest solutions has to slap us in the face.

You, GarciaMax, are an asset to the community.

But, I was still trying to figure out the "why", and the only thing I can come up with is it worked fine right before I had to downgrade my system RAM. I had a blow out on 1 module, then needed to install a lower speed / lower capacity module in bay 2, which in turn reduces the speed for all system RAM. Just a Temp fix until I get a matching module, and I was curious as to what WEI would say about it. Guess I found out the hard way... LOL.
