Hi,

When a file is deleted from your computer, its contents aren't immediately destroyed. Windows simply marks the hard drive space as being available for use by changing one character in the file table. If you manage to start an undelete process before Windows overwrites that part of hard disk with new files. You can set that flag back to "on" and get your file.

As I know, you can download some free recovery software as follow to recover deleted files.

Note：Stop using the current disk as main disk, please keep it unchangeable before recovering the files.

  Pandora Recovery actually recovers files permanently removed from Recycle Bin, files originally deleted using Shift

    Technically windows deletes it for a reason, and recycle bin is for stuff that you wanna delete. They originally wanted shift delete only for files that the user specifically doesnt want to go in recycle bin, but due to lack of knowledge people think recycle bin keeps the files and shift delete erases them.

    So technically windows already has a file recovery software, the recycle bin. Most people prefer to just delete things outright however, not knowing that they are only at a loss.

    I just go to my favorites and go to recent places, and that's it in a nut shell, you got your deleted file.

    You should be able to recover the files without any extra software if you are using windows 7 or some versions of windows vista. Most undelete software simply doesn't work in newer operating systems so there's no point wasting time or money on them. If the file shadow copy system is enabled (which it is by default in windows 7) then you can recover previous versions simply by right clicking on the folder it used to be contained in and choosing the 'Restore previous versions' option.     Hi - there's a slim chance that file recovery software might still be able to work, but disk defragmentation is a very disk intensive operation by its very nature, so much depends on when the content of the files 'got lost'. If it was before the defrag pass then chances are data has been overwritten during the file shuffle

    Whatever you do, you want to minimise (i.e. avoid) any more disk activity on that disk. Use a different PC for browsing etc... download any trials of file recovery software to a different PC, copy it onto a USB drive and plug that in the PC concerned and run the file recovery program from the USB drive instead - just don't keep saving new files to the PC!

    You could also take a disk image (i.e. exact copy) of the disk as it stands at the moment so you have something that can't get any worse. That would enable you to work on recovering files from the disk image while you leave the PC alone.
