How do I copy home movies on a DVD to my computer?

Home made (non-copy protected) DVDs are easy...

just insert the DVD in your DVD drive...go to...Start /

Computer...right click the icon for the DVD Drive and

choose Explore...you should see the directory of the DVD.

Now...copy/paste or drag/drop...the 'VIDEO_TS' folder

from the DVD to a new folder (renamed to the name of

the corresponding DVD) on your hard drive and that's it.

If you had VLC Media Player on your system (for example)

you could right click the VIDEO_TS folder and choose...

"Play With VLC Media Player" and the video will play.

These files can be several Gigabytes so copying can take

some time...have patience.

    I too have home made dvd  it is about 3 hours long.,  I only want to copy and save about 5 minutes .. how can this be done..??

    It can't be done with any native Windows facilities.  Use your favorite search engine.  Hint:  Edit DVD video

    Don't know the answer to that. Had someone create a way to watch mine and any others I may have created in the future. Windows won't do it. Not sure how the person created what he did but it works for me. Sorry to not be of any help.

    I found that out. I had someone create a way to do it outside of Windows 10. Have no idea how he did it but it works for me. That's all I can offer.
