How do I copy home movies on a DVD to my computer?

Home made (non-copy protected) DVDs are easy...

just insert the DVD in your DVD drive...go to...Start /

Computer...right click the icon for the DVD Drive and

choose Explore...you should see the directory of the DVD.

Now...copy/paste or drag/drop...the 'VIDEO_TS' folder

from the DVD to a new folder (renamed to the name of

the corresponding DVD) on your hard drive and that's it.

If you had VLC Media Player on your system (for example)

you could right click the VIDEO_TS folder and choose...

"Play With VLC Media Player" and the video will play.

These files can be several Gigabytes so copying can take

some time...have patience.

    On Windows 7, instead of Explore it says Open.

    I cant see explore.  i'm using a windows 7 laptop

    If Explore is not listed...what about Open?

    Still no luck...what options do you see?

    I did that and it worked; except when I copied the files from desktop to laptop, the laptop videos play with NO audio.  PLEASE help.
