hi please can someone help as i can't figure out how to switch on the inbuilt webcam on my sony viao i'm on windows 7 !!!!!

Hi Sarah,

Steps to turn on integrated WebCam on Sony Vaio Laptop

a.    Click on Start and then click on All programs.

b.    Go all the way to the bottom until you see “Arcsoft Webcam companion”

c.    Click on it and then click on Webcam companion 3 to turn your webcam.

That’s it.

    I've had this problem for months. Sometimes works. Most times doesn't. SONY are pathetic. Clearly there is a problem with this arc soft. So nay people on the web complain about it. Obviously they are scared about product recall and so won't acknowledge

     

    Here is an answer that actually works. It has worked on XP, Vista and Windows 7 home and pro. I downloaded the program from a different model on the sony website and it works. The end of chasing our tails. Enjoy. http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VPCEA21FX&region_id=1#div_pos_12

    I am relieved to see possibility of such online assistance.

    Well, I have recently bought a sony vaio s-series laptop model VPCSA2CFX/SI from USA, whereas I live in Qatar in Middle East. The laptop, loaded with built-in HD camera (supported by Exmore Technology) and Windows 7, is quite fine in all means, except the fact that Built-in camera resolution is just not enough. There is no clarity of vision at all. I tried all the means to download & operate Arcsoft webcam companion 4 software and Arcsoft Magic-i effect software (surprisingly, they don't open together). I am unable to make any correction related to the resolution on built-in Magic-i software, which is probably supposed to improve the resolution to the camera's best. Here in Qatar, I didn't get support of international warranty as well, though it was purchased just a week back. Kindly advise, what is wrong with camera and what do i do to get crystal clear resolution, which is expected from such advanced model. Thanks.

    Hi,

    I have Sony Vaio VPCEB11FX model. And my web camera worked perfectly fine until recently. I have tried to reinstall WebCam Companion and it worked (sometimes) for a certain period of time and then again stopped working at all. It says that webcamera is not found or when I am trying to go to Monitor it says that it is either not found or does not working properly. I know how to turn it on but it does not work anyways.

    Please, help me. I have a whole family abroad the sea and I want my camera working again in skype and gmail... My e-mail is: ******@hotmail.com
