hi please can someone help as i can't figure out how to switch on the inbuilt webcam on my sony viao i'm on windows 7 !!!!!

Hi Sarah,

Steps to turn on integrated WebCam on Sony Vaio Laptop

a.    Click on Start and then click on All programs.

b.    Go all the way to the bottom until you see “Arcsoft Webcam companion”

c.    Click on it and then click on Webcam companion 3 to turn your webcam.

That’s it.

    I had the same problem and tried several ways to correct it. The online solutions didn't seem to work. After several attempts, I clicked on capture then changed the screen resolution to 1280 x 1024. It worked !!!

    Hey, all, sorry for taking so long to reply.

    Well, my problem has not been solved yet.

    One thing I forgot to mention before, is that I purchased my laptop when I traveled to the US; I'm now residing in Brazil, but I don't think that's what's causing the problem.

    Anyway, I recently got my Vaio back from the repair shop, and looked up the Sony eSupport website for Devices & Drivers for my laptop model. The only available one is the same Arcsoft Webcam Companion 3, so I downloaded it.

    Unfortunately, the same old problem still exists. The program can't find the built-in webcam for nothing.

    One thing I noticed, though, is that I can't find the camera driver in my Device Manager. There was an Unknown Device before (which I assumed was it), but now it's gone. There's nothing.

    Could that be the problem? That I have the software but lack the driver for it? Still, why would it work before and now it does not? If it is the problem, though, does anybody know how I can fix it? The Sony eSupport website only provides the software, there are no drivers, apparently...

    I don't really know what else to do. I just don't understand how come it was working just fine before I logged on Skype. And I don't even have the program anymore.

    I've had this problem for months. Sometimes works. Most times doesn't. SONY are pathetic. Clearly there is a problem with this arc soft. So nay people on the web complain about it. Obviously they are scared about product recall and so won't acknowledge
