hi please can someone help as i can't figure out how to switch on the inbuilt webcam on my sony viao i'm on windows 7 !!!!!

Hi Sarah,

Steps to turn on integrated WebCam on Sony Vaio Laptop

a.    Click on Start and then click on All programs.

b.    Go all the way to the bottom until you see “Arcsoft Webcam companion”

c.    Click on it and then click on Webcam companion 3 to turn your webcam.

That’s it.

    Yesterday i decided to remove skype and check if the issue persist. how surprised i was, when after the restart camera was working! i`ve checked device manager and finally i saw "imaging devices">USB 2.0 Camera. When webcam was not not working, this position was not there, instead i saw "unknown device" with code error 43. now im wondering, when im gonna have this problem again. so far, so good. im really dissapointed with Sony Vaio, i paid a lot of money for this laptop, and during 5 months i have issue with webcam, several times my card reader was disabled (for sure not by me), and many others small issue. i didnt even call sony support, but when im not gonna fix this problem by myself anymore, maybe i will do contact them, although from experience i know they have no idea how to help.

    hy i have a question about my labtop. ok so i just had it cleaned and i guess everything that the labtop came with had deleted, is a VAIO windows 7 labtop,. the hd webcam doestnt  work,vegas,ACID,Sound Forge doesnt work Vaio care i dont even see that pleaase help me!

    I was calling Sony support and they provided me with a procedure using "Assist" button, it reseting factory settings which means i will loose all  my data unless i save it. After few weeks my cam is not working anymore so im gonna follow support advice-if issue persist, i have to give my laptop to them service...;(
