click start button and type "msconfig" and hit enter. When open goto startup tab and un-tick the program with name of "windows live" or "iexplore.exe" and hit apply and close. Hope it will help!

    I tried AcaSuharsya method of going to  administrative tool >>> services >>> windows live ID assistance 

    and then right clicked on Windows Live ID assistant and selected properties. I changed the setting to Automatic Delayed and I have had no problems since.

    Would highly recommend this method

    Click on START

    Go to CONTROL PANEL

    Choose PROGRAM AND FEATURES

    Choose WINDOWS LIVE ESSENTIALS 2011

    Choose REPAIR ALL PROGRAMS.................................................

    worked for me....

    Thanks...It certainly seems to have worked at the first restart - I'll let you know if it comes back!

    ...it did come back.

    I have now tried changing the startup for Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant to Manual in services.msc

    That seems to have stopped it - but we'll see!
