Problem solved.
I actually had to purge all the existing reports using the Disk Cleanup utility.

Whenever I try to check for solutions in the action center of Windows 7, I get the following error message: Problem connecting to the Windows Error Reporting service. Some of the reports could not be uploaded to the Windows Error Reporting service. Please try again later.
This issue started appearing a few days ago, even though I didn't make any changes in my computer. I don't have any firewall (except for the default Windows firewall) and all my other programs work just fine on the Internet.
Any ideas what might cause the issue?

I know it's not the way to do it, but sometimes my computer does not give me a choice.
Patience is a virtue. It sometimes takes a while for Task Manager to take control. Try looking at whether you are multi-tasking when you do not need to do so.
Try to eliminate malware from the picture.
What internet browser are you using?
I recommend that you run Disk CleanUp or cCleaner to remove temporary files as this will reduce scanning times by security software.
Boot the computer to safe mode with networking and download and install Malwarebytes (freeware version for home users only), update definitions and run in normal mode. Disable other security software whilst you are doing scans.

Please download and run ADWCleaner:

I had read somewhere that the paging file could have negative consequences if it is on a solid state drive.
This makes more sense to me:

You should not press the Power button to shut down the computer or to resolve a freeze. Click on the Orb in the bottom left of the Desktop and select Shutdown. If you encounter problems shutting down then select Ctrl+Shift+Esc to bring up Task Manager and click on the Applications tab. Place the cursor on a running application to select it and click on the End Task button. As the application is removed from the list repeat the procedure on the next application in the list until all are gone from the list. You should then be able to shut down your computer. I close all open windows on the task bar.

Are you getting the problem when you check for solutions. A small window should open headed Problem Reporting and under that appears the words Checking for solutions. A green progress bar shows progress. Does the green bar start or does it fail to start?
FWIW I have only once got a solution from using this facility. I may not see as many problems on this computer as many users but the success rate has been infinitesimal.
Open Action Center and click Action Center Settings. Which boxes are checked?
Click the Arrow down to the right of Maintenance and click Settings. Which of the four options have you selected?
Thanks for the page file article, I set an 800 MB page file on the C drive and left the rest as system managed on D.
Regarding the shutdowns, unfortunately I could not click anything and I had tried Ctrl+Shift+Esc and nothing happened, so I didn't have a choice but to power off. I know it's not the way to do it, but sometimes my computer does not give me a choice.
The reason for wanting a solution is that I believe the critical errors I have been receiving have something to do with my NVIDIA card, but I just downloaded the new version of Drivers yesterday, so maybe that will help.
Yes the error occurs in the Problem Reporting/Checking for solutions box. The blue progress bar finishes, and then I receive the error message "Problem connecting to the Windows Error Reporting Service. Some of the reports could not be uploaded to the Windows Error Reporting service. Please try again later."
In Action Center Settings, ALL boxes are checked.
In the Maintenance Settings, I checked Automatically check for solutions and send additional report data, if needed

I think I need to clarify exactly what you see as your problem? Is your problem related to Action Center?
You do have a number of issues and the Windows Error Reporting service is generating a considerable number of reports highlighting these problems., which we can address.
At regular intervals you are seeing unexpected shut downs and the link below at paragraph 2.14 summarises the main causes:
http://www.gerryscomputertips.co.uk/syserrors4.htm
Are you causing these unexpected shut downs by pressing the Power On / Off button to resolve freezes? If not we need to find out why they are occurring.
You have placed your page file on your D partition. It would be better on you C partition.
It is desirable to turn off your computer over night. Some routines are performed when the computer is booted.
To eliminate an unrelated but recurring Event ID: 10 errors in your Application log please run the Fix it in this KB Article
My "C" drive is a solid state drive. My "D" drive is a "regular" SATA drive. I had read somewhere that the paging file could have negative consequences if it is on a solid state drive.
Most of the unexpected shutdowns are probably from pushing the power button due to unresolvable freezes.
I ran the Event ID:10 Fix, thanks.
So back to my original query, within the Action Center, under Maintenance, I choose Check for Solutions and have set it up to automatically send info to the Reporting Service, which is when I receive the notice that it cannot send the info. Thoughts?
