IBM is marketing Lotus now, so it's up to them.  http://www-01.ibm.com/software/lotus/products/smartsuite/

If it works on Vista, it's very likely to work on Win7.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS SOLUTION!!!  YES IT DOES WORK!!  I spent HOURS on the phone with lotus inIndia and they were of no assistance.  I too have a new windows 7 64 bit laptop and was getting the registry error when I tried to install from the disk.  After reading this post I went into windows explorer and found the 'setup' file on the CD and clicked on it.  Voila - it installed and now it works JUST THE WAY MY HUSBAND LIKES IT.

Thanks again for sharing this tip.

I got Lotus to install in Win7 64-bit in the Program Files (x86) folder. I had to browse for the folder.

I want to continue to use Lotus Freelance.

I'm trying to install using Windows 7 XP mode.  Of course that also has complications getting XP mode going like downloading and installing the optional software and like enabling visualization mode in the bios of my Sony Vaio . . . hope it works for all this work . . .
