How do I remove Edge from my computer completely?

I have Windows 10 Pro running my computer and would like to completely get rid of Edge. I don't use it and don't plan on ever using it so it's basically just a nuisance to me. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, it isn't possible to get rid of Edge completely. However, you can install some other web browser and set it as the system default.

Hi Wild, Welcome to the Microsoft Community. I am a Microsoft user just like you, and I hope you are well.

Please note: This is a user-to-user community forum. We are users just like you who help others. We are not employees of Microsoft.

Microsoft Edge is the web browser recommended by Microsoft and is the default web browser for Windows. Because Windows supports applications that rely on the web platform, our default web browser is an essential component of our operating system and can’t be uninstalled. To provide our users with compatibility, compliance, accessibility, and performance, we'll continue updating Microsoft Edge through the browser installer or Windows updates.

I hope this is helpful! Best Regards, Utkarsh

This is a mistake to require the use of any application, much less a poor one that affects performance in a huge way. I'm ditching windows 10 for personal use. If windows 11 has the same requirement - it's gone too. MacOS with linux as a base is a much wiser choice. Linux is a true OS. Is windows really supposed to be an OS, or is really just Microsoft's attempt to make more money. Why don't you make Windows use Linux? You people are idiots. I am a QA tester for all OSs that run on phones, tables, laptops and desktops. We have an application that configures network services for our wired/wireless security application. This is the worst platform there is. We have more problems with windows than anyone....it's constant. Sorry.

First, get a free program called "geek uninstaller". It is a simple stand alone program, no install needed. Once you have this program, open it up and look for "Microsoft Edge" and "Microsoft Edge Updater" on the list that comes up.
finally, I can uninstall Microsoft Edge on Windows 11 by using this third party with the force remove option.

Not only can you not remove it but unlike Android factory installed apps you can't even disable it to stop its **** redirecting.

What a joke Microsoft. Someone needs to start legal action over this.
