Hey Ted,
Yup, that's certainly part of the solution too, and can work for people for whom it hasn't gotten bad already.
The problem is that the CPU overvoltage that occurred with the earlier BIOS actually damages the CPU slightly each time it goes over voltage. That means that the CPU gets slowly worse over time.
Mine has gotten to the point where even the BIOS fix didn't resolve it completely, because some of the CPU cores already have some damage.
At least Lasso still helps me.
(I tried taking my PC back to the vendor that sold it to me. After 2 weeks of delay before they could even look at it, and another week of testing, they deemed it to be 'fine'. It's absolutely not fine, but I ran out of energy - and lack of PC - to keep arguing.)

Thank you for this response, just following up on the use of Project Lasso as I've never used it before. Did you disable these cores specifically for chrome and the other browsers or was there some global setting somewhere?
Hey Dusty,
Someone else on a different site said that it was a low numbered core that had the issue for them.
That seemed likely for me also, since it occurred reasonably regularly, and I took a punt it would use lower numbered cores more often (I have no idea if this is true, but took a chance).
In any case, with Lasso it's really quick and easy to deselect cores. I did that for the first 6 cores and the problem went away instantly on every browser, every app, every mode, for ever.
I couldn't even bother narrowing it down further. I have lots of cores, and surely browsers can still work with 20+..!
ps. I have no relationship to Lasso or any other app maker. Just worked for me and others.

Thank you so much for this input mark g2. Had the same problem on an ASUS ROG STRIX G17 with a AMD Ryzen 7940HX 32-core processor. Downloaded Project Lasso, disabled cores 1 to 16 and all problems were resolved! However, I contacted the manufacturer as I bought it only 3 days ago and I didn't buy an expensive 32-core notebook only to disable half of the cores only to make it run smoothly...
Dealing with two i9's, one 13th gen, one 14th gen. Project Lasso worked for the browser crashing. I had to go through the Minidumps and all that fun stuff. I ended up replacing RAM twice on both of them and the type and voltage on your RAM seems to make a big difference with 24H2 and i9's and this problem. Go through your motherboard manufacturer RAM recommendations and compare that to what you have onboard. I now measure the crashes in days instead of hours. Both computers pass extended Burn-in and OCCT tests so all I can think is that it is not a pure hardware or pure software problem and that the posts about motherboards natively overclocking and forcing power settings are the key. But I am not Intel, or GigaByte, or Asus and if they cannot figure it out I certainly cannot. Insanely frustrating. One computer would run for days as long as QuickBooks was not open. You could open QuickBooks and work in it, and as long as you closed it no blue screens or application crashes. Everything points to a combination of hardware and software demands on the way the chip handles power. That's a shot in the dark from an experienced but certainly not authoritative voice.
Make sure your BIOS is up to date now and check again monthly for a while and hopefully your silicon won't degrade rapidly again. Intel and motherboard manufacturers are updating things to try and make the issues go away. There is no saving already ruined chips but hopefully they can stop it happening on good chips going forward... I have my doubts but my RMA replacement is still going strong 🤞
