If you have O&OSHUTUP installed and have made changes to the Edge browser using this utility, you'll notice the "Your browser is being managed by your organization" message. If you disable all modifications made with the utility, the message should disappear, indicating that your system isn't compromised by malware or a virus. I should have clarified this earlier. However, if you see the message before installing the utility, it's advisable to follow the fixes/solutions mentioned in this thread, as there's a strong possibility your system has been infected with malware/virus—unless you're using an enterprise version of Windows or have added a work/school account to Edge. If you're unable to identify the issue, I recommend performing a fresh installation of Windows, which should resolve the problem.

This should sort things for you. First close out any apps you have running, so you don't lose any unsaved work.

• Download Fixlist.txt and leave in your Downloads folder with FRST64.exe
• Run FRST and press "Fix"

hello. my browser is being managed by an organization. in the edge policy it says Extensioninstallforcelist. i have tried everything i could and nothing worked. i cant change it and i dont know anything about electronics and i dont want to mess up my computer. please help! thank you

• Type powershell into search and launch Windows Powershell as administrator.
• Copy and paste in all the bold text below (both lines at once) into Powershell then press enter :

reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\ExtensionInstallForcelist /f;reg delete HKCU\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge\ExtensionInstallForcelist /f;

• In Edge, enter edge://policy/ into the URL bar and press enter.
• Click on 'Reload Policies'

If ExtensionInstallForcelist is still present then you likely have malware.

In that case, please upload and share logs from Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST).

• If your computer language is not English, rename FRST64.exe to FRST64English.exe
• Run FRST and press "Scan"
• Two logs are created in the folder that FRST is run from, FRST.txt and Addition.txt
• Upload the logs to OneDrive, Google Drive or any file sharing service
• Post the share link

 

Note: If you are downloading FRST with Edge, smartscreen will initially block it.

Click on the 3 dots next to the warning and select Keep-> Show more-> Keep anyway.
