I installed the new Secure Edge browser. Big mistake. How can I go back to the old one?

Install the registry entries to protect the legacy version. Use the restore point it worked fine for me on 2 PCs. Also download the hide updates tool and hide that KB. Then you don't have to worry about it installing. ALso set you updates to review by you so you can prevent it going in on its own if the tool doesn't work

If you have feature suggestions then use the Feedback method available in the new Edge, Alt-Shift-I. The development team sees those and will take your feedback into consideration for future feature additions. Due to volume they are very unlikely to respond.

Actually it just happened to me on multiple PCs. The new version 84 was rolled out via KB599309, I had version 44. And it cant be uninstalled. So going back to a restore point was the solution. I see from the link there is another way now however Googling never brought it up. The reasons for not wanting the new Chromium - among several things the worst is the ability not to be able to stop ads from playing. All u can do is set a flag that stops the audio, the ads still play. As well the download 'Save As' feature doesn't seem to allow this it only auto downloads to the default name. What a terrible thing to do to people. There are several missing features which should have been brought forward.

Actually you can only uninstall Edge Chromium if you manually installed it. If it came via MS Update and the KB you cant uninstall it.

This is no longer true :). I only recommend you to restore Legacy Edge if your work is affected by the missing features. Please note that Legacy Edge is a deprecated browser.

Also, It is advised to create a system restore point before you execute the steps.
