Hi

My laptop just updated to Edge and its running very slow. It takes over 10 minutes just to load one page.

It has also stopped internet explorer working and getting error message ‘Cannot reach this page’.

i even tried to download Chrome but its not allowing that either.

Any ideas how i can fix this? This is a new laptop and now cant use it!

A few days ago, I found an Intel processor update on Dell.com (I have a Dell with an Intel processor), which after installing, apparently resolved the issue. This may have released recently; I had previously run Update checks for firmware and drivers using Dell Support which did not detect this update. I forget the exact name of the update, but it had something to do with resource distribution.

This solution fixed the Edge performance problem (slow loading, incomplete loading, scrolling delayed or unresponsive with either mouse or keyboard or pad). Just had to close Edge after making the setting change. It also fixed the same problem I had with Chrome. Thanks, David!

edge started acting painfully slow after my laptop updated to 11. can't use it at all, takes 60 seconds just to open settings. will not use until this is fixed, must be a Microsoft issue, nothing else on my laptop is slow and its only 6 months old

I have found closing Edge for a minute or so then restarting it helps. If you watch via Task Manager when you close Edge it takes a while for all the processes to close. Had the same problem with Chrome. Switched to Edge a few months ago to hopefully get better results but no.

this doesnt work... first time, it did... second time, had to wait longer than the first...
on the 15th of February, my Edge was really, really slow... i fought with it (relaunching, rebooting, hard boot, turning off sync (dont know why it was turned on - i only have this 'puter, and my daughter uses the laptop, and we are very jealous, lol)

anyways - letting it "rest" doesn't work, because we always turn off the 'puter at night...
