I recently heard about the Microsoft Edge available on Mac and decided to try it out, so I downloaded on the website and follow the instructions. But once it's installed, the app pops like like any other Mac apps, but it instantly crashed and closed by itself, even with several times of reinstalling. Is there anything I could do to fix this? Like something needed to change in the settings?

Seems the issue is resolved with a new download today "MicrosoftEdge-81.0.416.68.pkg". My earlier download on 25th that did not work on iMac was MicrosoftEdge-81.0.416.64.pkg.
After retry by downloading new installer and install on top of existing Edge but no luck, i restarted my Mac and now it works

Same issue on iMac. Tried downloading from multiple browsers and restarts etc.
Edge menu briefly appears and then it crashes.
It Works fine on my MacPro though. Could not figure out the problem.
I have the exact same issue and couldn't resolve it with safari. Same thing occurs with beta and dev version.
