New Microsoft Edge freezing intermittently forcing restart

The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

Disabling hardware acceleration seemed to help.

I did disable Hardware Acceleration and reset the Edge settings.
And it is actually working better and faster.

I am using Geforce RTX and probably nvidia driver issues.
    Edge runs much better now.

I also have a laptop with NOT nvidia driver.
I have never had edge crashing on that.

I'm stuck. I've tried so many different things, but never get very far. I have another Windows 10 computer where Edge works just fine, so I'm really puzzled.

Every time that I start up, I get the "Microsoft Edge closed unexpectedly" popup in the upper right hand corner. I can get rid of it by clicking on the "x" (if it hasn't frozen), but it always returns when I start up.

Sometimes I can get farther, but not very, before it freezes.

Microsoft offers ZERO assistance with this problem.

I have the exact same problem, it crashes while I'm on a page, forcing me to force restart my computer.
