Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
The new Edge browser will occasionally freeze. When this happens there is no screen control and ending the Edge process using the task manager closes the browser window bur does not release all the resources forcing me to restart the PC. This can happen on a webpage or when watching videos. Is this a known problem and has anyone else experienced this and found a solution? I am running Windows 10 with the 2004 update installed, have no problems with other applications and no freezing when using Firefox or Chrome

thank you for your answer. Microsoft - kind of - does the same thing, sometimes it restarts within a minute or 2 and continues where it left off. Other times I have to alt/control/delete, etc. I'm up with my updates but it has not been fixed by Microsoft. I would switch to Google but I'm using Microsoft editor a lot while writing in French. Let's hope Microsoft fixes it because there should have been a fix after more than 2 years of complaints. Thanks again
It must be a different problem as the problem had was resolved with a Microsoft update.
I followed the steps per yr message, but it didn't correct the problem. It even seems that the freeze time has increased from 1 or 2 seconds to almost one minute. I don't want to go to Goggle, I'm too used to Microsoft but I guess I'll have to. With so many complaints, from so many users, shouldn't Microsoft have a fix that would definitively eliminate this problem?
my newest edge have same behaviour on ubuntu
