Has Microsoft E-Tree Been Exploited?

A handful of new users jumped to the top of the leaderboard with round-number points in the millions. Disconcerting to legitimate and dedicated users. Suspicious and conspicuous. Current number 6, Yggdrasil, was in clear first place, at least for the last few months.

    My situation is that it is 50,000 points per tree on desktop and e-Tree sidebar however it's still 10,000 on mobile apps (iOS - Bing & Start). Have to time reaching 10,000 to occur on either iOS app. Desktop then rewards with a 1,000 for planting a new tree but not now getting the 5,000 bonus for a new tree on the e-Tree sidebar, assume I'd need to hang out until 50,000 for that to activate...

    See, for me it's now 20,000 per tree (so basically the points have doubled).

    The fact it's so wildly different for everyone implies that something is wrong with the app as well as whatever server issue caused the mass reset for a lot of people.

    I've tried contacting rewards about the reset (though the points thing is also very odd) and haven't heard back in over a week. Also contacted the live chat and they're trying to get it resolved too (they didn't seem to know it had happened but I'm sure I'm not the only person who has reported this). So I guess we just need to keep contacting support and feedback directly and showing that it's affecting multiple people?

    Me too. My 34 trees are all lost on 5/6/2023.

    I also noticed this. Suddenly a bunch of users appeared with 80+ trees who weren't there before (or an insane amount of points but only 20 trees planted, fore example). It's nowhere near as bad as last time, but loads of people from the top 50 have disappeared.
    I'm not sure if the updates have just been terrible recently and it's only just refreshed, or if people exploiting it are being a bit more sneaky and thinking if they don't go for the top 3 they won't get noticed, but either way it's a problem and spoiling the fun a bit.
