Has Microsoft E-Tree Been Exploited?

A handful of new users jumped to the top of the leaderboard with round-number points in the millions. Disconcerting to legitimate and dedicated users. Suspicious and conspicuous. Current number 6, Yggdrasil, was in clear first place, at least for the last few months.

    Another annoying factor is I've tried asking about this (even got to a real person) and the only response I got was to check the FAQ. It does now say that you need to earn 50,000 points for each tree after number 5, (so it's now 10,000 for 1, 20,000 for 2 etc etc) which sure, okay, I guess people are moving faster than they expected and they can't handle planting that many, but that obviously isn't the case for everybody as people are still racking up trees every few days and that's impossible without an exploit.
    There's also zero information about why everybody using the edge browser suddenly lost all their e-tree data after that date in March (though I have a theory that they screwed up on edge when they rolled out the points update, seems a bit too coincidental that both happened at the same time).

    Still annoying that multiple people have raised questions about this and people cheating and they're just like "lol sorry that happened, have you tried reading the FAQ?"

    People on top of the leaderboard, are still planting a tree every 3 days. Very annoying cause for me, playing daily... it takes weeks with the new rules. Are they doing something illegal?? Today is June 14th 2023, and I am based in Europe, Spain.

    I lost all the trees and points I had when I clicked on the e-tree in the Edge sidebar on 5/6/23 too. Instead of finding a way to get more points I lost everything. Does anyone know what is going on?

    Some of the people on the current leaderboard weren't on their until the last couple of days and some how got millions of points in those couple of days. Yggdrasil who has been first for months now has dropped from first and has been the only person that reached the 1 million points mark. Top 3 currently have over 4 million points. They have somehow found a way to give themselves how much ever points they want, without doing the necessary daily tasks for points

    I did notice there were a bunch of new people in the top 50 and I'm not disagreeing with the notion that they might be cheating. My question is more...how? Even on a really good day, I get 7000 points. How are these people getting so many more?
