Anyone using (new) Edge C (GA) & or testing the Edge Insider beta Channels, comments (bad AND good), tips, info to share, observations, suggestions/requests, issues/problems, curiosities, questions, you name it... The floor is yours...

Myself, I have run all available Insider Builds since April.  And, now, running Edge C GA, as well; swapped from HTML Jan. 15th.

I am/have been very impressed with the performance.  Been a bit fun adapting to some things/methods/locations/layouts/structure.  Some NTML features seem missing, BUT, heaps more stuff is coming very soon.  Some 'new' & different items are quite cool.  It has been interesting as an Insider.  And it will be interesting for people using & discovering THIS Edge.  It is, well, IMHO, will be THE outstanding browser.  I, strongly urge & encourage Folks to adopt it. Be prepared, though... it's very fast

Let's see what more detail & specifics y'all may have, will have to add here...

Anxious for your remarks, look forward to the input that can be share to everyone's benefit, of course.

The floor is yours...

Cheers,

Drew

Yes & I realise I had shown both Beat & GA with the same version # which, they are, now; GA was 79 & Beta 80.

That switch has been in the test Channels, Canary & Dev for a while.  (Another example) It shows that the cool things Edge Insiders have seen for a while DO end up in GA.

Personally, I use & recommend Strict in which case that switch goes On 'automatically' or by default.

As for the speed, it  may seem so... the updates can affect features and, also, performance aspects.  Certainly, it was impressive when we started in April and that has continued to impress.  And fast as the betas seemed to be or are, from myself, the GA is even quicker than the beta Channels. That was blatantly noticeable.  But, yes, probably the single most outstanding part to Edge C is its performance, solid & very rapid; could see it had a hell of a pace right from the onset in April.

BTW, I am quite sure we can expect to see Edge C GA pushed out via WU by or before the end of February.

    Cheers,

    Drew

Quite expect Dark to not need its flag, soon due to its popularity & the amount to which, it has been requested.  I'm, also, a Bing Insider.  Dark for it has been implemented for Mobile and will start rolling out sometime in the near future.  For PCs et al, it's coming someday, too.

A feature I feel is note-worthy is Strict Tracking Prevention.  And there is a good chance, once people have Collections they will end up liking & using that a lot.  But, at least, GA has Share... we went a while as Insiders without that.

And one handy/helpful extension I do use is Scroll button(s). (Have tried various extensions, yet, actually, use VERY few )

Thank-You Drew for the information, I also like the "Strict Tracking Prevention" and for those members that are not familiar with The "flag" we are referring too, just type this into a new open tab at the top of the browser Edge://flags/#enable-force-dark   there you can Enable the switch so all web pages will be Dark Mode. Much Nicer on the eyes. I do hope they eliminate the need to set this flag soon Drew, Cause it really is one of the browsers best features.

I do not use any Extensions now , but I may try the one you have suggested. Do you have any thoughts on Ad Blockers Extensions?... I'm currently Not using any, because I see that we already have one similar to uBlock Origin installed to the New Edge Chromium Browser.

Ok, since you are referring to the "Welcome" screen' on your computer, obviously, there's no URL 😁 Anyway, so you are saying 'link's from that screen no longer do what they did & tying that to something regarding Edge.

But, there is, now, something you said that I must ask you to explain.... "upgraded (a few days or so ago) to MS Edge Beta" ... meaning you "upgraded" what to Edge beta. I cannot quite peg what that's saying.  Thanks.

I will suggest the possible reason for those Welcome screen things not working is they work with the embedded browser & none of the beta Channels (Beta, Dev or Canary) are ever going to be that.  Same as Timeline does not work with or support the beta Channels.

Is Beta running as you  Default Browser?

You know, the GA is available since Jan. 15th, HERE. With that you may not have the Welcome screen issues & Timeline would work with it, too.

    Cheers,

    Drew

I am enjoying using MS Edge Beta but the links on the welcome screen don't work anymore; but the picture changes and the feedback (do I "Like" or "Not Like") still works. I am thankful for anyone's how-to-fix or or technical advisement. Thank you.
