videos in windows edge keep stopping and restarting

The videos in Edge keep stopping and restarting. Some go for 18 seconds, other go almost all the way to the end then start over. I have done all the so called "fixes" I have found on the internet, and nothing works. The problem only happens when watching videos in Edge home page. Videos in Facebook and others work fine.

    I have the exact same issue. This is exactly why people use Chrome Firfox etc. Because microsoft won't fix their trash browser and try to blame it on other things this has been a problem for years and years now. FIX YOUR TRASH Microsoft. And the bad part is Microsoft tries to force Edge on everyone. I wish some day in the future that someone out there would make a Windows replacement that works with everything. Microsoft is contoling and big tech is controlling our lives. this is getting way out of control. But it wont' ever stop at this point it's too late. and allthe help people that reply here seem sub par at best all they sugjest we do is reinstall Windows. This tell mes that they seem to not have a clue about what they are supposed to be educated in.

    I've had the same very annoying problem on msn pages with html5 videos for months in Edge, Firefox, and Chrome. The main problem is msn videos suddenly restarting from the beginning after 15-30 seconds.

    In Edge, extensions to stop html5 video autoplay do not work properly. With the extension, the videos will not autoplay (good), but there is no way to play them (bad).

    I think the issue is with the msn web sites themselves. There should be a configurable setting on msn that will disable autoplay for a user.

    I get the same problem with MS Edge on a MS Surface Pro with Windows 11.

    Usually it's just the MS Start (msn.com) videos that randomly restart from the beginning, but occasionally YouTube videos will only play for a couple of seconds before stopping.

    A reboot will fix the YouTube problem, but the msn.com videos still randomly restart.

    Sorry if it didn't help.

    I will now recommend that you try to disable the Hardware Acceleration in Microsoft Edge.

    > Open the Microsoft Edge browser by double-clicking on the shortcut or searching it through the Windows search feature.

    > Click on the Settings and more option at the top right corner and choose the Settings option in the list.

    > Select the System option in the left pane. Now, turn OFF the toggle for the “Use hardware acceleration when available” option.

    > Click on the Restart button to restart Microsoft Edge with new changes.

    Then see if the issue still persists.
