Starting this morning, Edge does not remember logins to any website

Starting this morning, every time I close Edge and reopen it, it doesn't remember any of my login so I have to login every time to every website.

I confirmed my setting is set to NOT clear cookies when I close my browser and it has always been this way.  I have never had this issue until this morning.

A features update was installed this morning and that's when this problem started.  Is there a bug with this update?  I'm running Windows 10 and Edge Version 86.0.622.38.  As you can imagine, it is quite annoying having to login to every time to every website.

Update-There must be a bug because other people on Reddit are starting to report the same issue.

Hi folks,

The original topic of this thread (Microsoft Edge not remembering logins) has been resolved. Make sure you've updated to the latest version of Edge to get the fix! I'm locking this thread as it is becoming difficult to moderate and troubleshoot individual issues, and this thread has turned in to a catch-all for all password issues.

If you are still seeing issues with Edge not remembering passwords and all other programs are remembering your logins as expected, please start a new thread so we can help you individually.

If you are seeing system-wide issues with passwords being saved:

• Check your Windows version to confirm if you are on Build 19041.173 or later

• If yes, reference this troubleshooting document Outlook and other apps won't remember password after Windows Updates - Outlook (microsoft.com) Note that this is a workaround until this Windows issue is patched.

Chrome has No issues with that. I use BOTH. IF you are accessing Google sites like mail etc THRU Edge then yes you have an issue. I do too.

BUT going straight to Gmail in Chrome... no problemo.

It's not just edge for me - ever since that update, Chrome won't remember passwords on a consistent basis either. I suppose.. I really need to start using a password management tool. This is a huge hassle.

    Hi,

I'm also having the same problem with many common websites I like to stay logged into.

It's very annoying to have to login again and again and again and again into outlook.com webmail.

I have downloaded and installed the latest version of Google Chrome.

Chrome has no problems staying logged into my favourite websites.

Chrome also keeps me logged into outlook.com and I am never logged out.

This is NOT a Chrome issue I have tried other Chrome based browsers: Brave, Vivaldi, Opera.

NONE OF THESE BROWSERS have any trouble keeping me logged into any website.

This is a problem which ONLY EFFECTS EDGE BROWSER.

    Hi...

Hopping in here again.... there was another Edge update today 10/25... didn't help. Not sure why I now have a Edge Update app in my Settings.. but whatever.

WHEN this first started I thought it was for ALL sites, BUT as the issue goes on and on the "BUG" does not seem to have any rhyme or reason as to which sites it won't

    > keep me logged into and remember user name (all sites do remember passwords)

AND which sites it does - YES I SAID DOES.

At 1st I thought it was ALL sites BUT as time goes on its not.

ALL MAIL sites get logged out. some remember User name some do not. Some require 2nd verification some do not.

    Same with financial sites.

Logging into Gmail is especially annoying. AOL too

Many sites remember everything. Some financial sites also remember everything.

ALL in ALL this "BUG" makes NO sense.
