Starting today (1/4/2022), whenever I click on a news article in the New Tab page, the Microsoft Start page is displayed instead. How do I stop that from happening?

2022-01-04T18:03:29+00:00 This is absolutely terrible. I can't get to any news feeds. If Microsoft does not correct this, I will be leaving for another browser. It must be a software glitch, or MS stock is going to DROP LIKE A LEAD BALLOON.

2022-01-04T18:03:05+00:00 The problem looks like it originated today from perhaps something Microsoft did in Edge to force the Microsoft Start page to override access to all the news articles. I couldn't find a way to stop it, I hope Microsoft does!
