Because you are encountering this, please, report it to Edge Feedback.

If it is not, already, on your toolbar > Settings (...) > ? Help & Feedback > Send Feedback.  Thanks.

You can, also, tweet to @MSEdgeMissy.  You might tell Missy 1st and then she & the Team will follow up on your feedback submission.

    Cheers,

    And, now..

Microsoft Edge is up to date.

    Version 84.0.522.52 (Official build) (64-bit)

    Cheers,

    Drew

Edge Performance Optimization Boost was initially introduced to Edge Insiders with the 81 Series Preview Builds.  And, it came to Edge GA as of the 84 Series, currently, in use. Ergo,  .52 should perform, at least, as well as .50 did.

Pretty sure was 84 not 83, though, a moot point, now 😂

Although, the blog is old, from February, one can read about Edge Performance Optimization Boost HERE.

Regarding RAM & such, there's good-to-know, useful, interesting info HERE.

Saved the best for last 👇

Now, things with Edge improved with 20H1.  You can read about that HERE.

    Cheers,

    Drew
