25290 Background Windows Spotlight

Thanks for checking and for all the info you provide me with.

Unfortunately, I couldn't enable/disable Spotlight variants without getting a black screen from which there's no recovery, and I got tired of restoring backups just to keep trying.

I don't have your patience so I'm just gonna stick to Beta and run Dev on a VM until they fix all these bugs.

To reproduce the case of your 1st post on this thread I just have to remove the variant,

I think they already had feedback on that.

That is probably why on the 25281 blog they advertised the other variant. Which is the one they first enabled on my desktop. 🤣

I only found this one when searching on the web, they said it came out originally with 25197. 😜

I compared the hidden features that are enabled right after a clean install with what I saw a little later after checking for updates and rebooting a few times.

I counted 31 extra experimental features enabled that were not present right after the clean install. Go figure!

They never tell us the whole story, that is why we see so many different behaviors and we never know if it is a bug or a MS experiment. 😜🤣🤷‍♂️

Crazy to debug anything with what they change under the covers without telling the users. 😜😜🤷‍♂️

I just came back.

This is after a clean install of 25290 on the old laptop. No missing picture no flashing, no covering of taskbar, no hiding of icons. Screen Resolution set for 1366 x 768.

I have not seen any of the issues that you described yet. 🤷‍♂️

B.T.W. this laptop never had any issue with any of the resolutions that are selectable. 👌🤷‍♂️
