Windows 11 Copilot not showing! (Dev build 23506.1000)

Update: I uninstalled the Windows Updates that ran Sept 26, did a Restore Point to last week, rebooted, ran Windows Updates. After a couple of restarts Copilot appears but the desktop icon labels now have a dropshadow. Selecting "do not show" does not resolve this, it is unchecked and I an using the same background as before the updates. Only way to prevent that is roll back the last update, but then I lose what ever that update was for and the Copilot.

My laptop automatically ran an update Sept 26 around 11:30pm. When it completed I noticed he Copilot Pre icon pinned to my Taskbar. I didn't know what it is. I also noticed my desktop icon labels with dropshadows. This was not how my desktop icons were before the update. Also a different background appeared when I restarted after the update. All my custom personalization settings show correctly but the it is not. I had a different picture and dropshadows. So I uninstalled the update in Windows Updates. I restarted and no longer see the CoPilot icon and icons still have dropshadow on icon labels . I decided to Restore to an earlier point before the update. I get back to what I had before the update and no dropshadow. However, I clicked Windows Update and alerted there are 2 so I ran them. I end up with no copilot and dropshadows are back. Do I really need copilot (I mostly use Google, not Edge) and if so how do I get it back?

Yeah, I've seen the feature release post for build 23550. I was hoping someone would figure out a way to activate the feature without having to wait for a fix. That's a pretty major gap considering the recent announcements, so let's hope they push a fix in the very next build.

I would not worry too much, Copilot current implementation has too many bugs anyway. 🤬🤬🤬

I had to disable it on my machines because it messes up my desktop. and makes it unusable.

Why do they need that nonsense Side Bar on the right of the screen anyway?

They should just open a standard window for the Copilot App so that users can move it where it is more convenient without screwing up the desktop layout.

OK, I have to disagree with part of this.

If I open Copilot the 2 desktop icons on

the right side of my screen move left.

As soon as I close Copilot they move back to

their original position. It in no way makes my desktop unusable.

I explained already which machines are affected and why.

Just read my FBH report. The problem is with any build depending on the display settings. It was reported months ago and ignored by MS.

It is the same bug that they have when using the Taskbar Autohide.

Anyway, there is no reason at all for using that silly Side Bar. They would eliminate all the problems by just opening a regular window for Copilot.

I'm in the US West Coast and I have Copilot on Dev build 23550.1000 as you can see below.

You could check if it the features required are enabled, but that is not an allowed discussion in these MS forums. 😂😂🤐
