    Installation fails with a code. 

    By the way, my Windows build 19043.899 is not a beta build and patch for 19043.906 is downloaded from a site and not from WU.

    Did you dbl check in Optional updates, the update was buried under another folder in optional.

    There sure was an issue coming from .899.  Deleted that ISO and creating a new one for 19043.906 and we will see how that goes. One vm on track, the other clean installed .899 was a total no go for update. No way to uninstall kb5000842.  Yes to your question regarding using same kb#, MS has done this many times in the past for CU updates in Dev, Beta channels.

    W.U. failed with error 0x800f081f W.U. on Beta from 19043.899 to 19043.906.

    This was previously updated by W.U. from 19042.867 to 19042.870 and then to Beta 19043.899 without any problem.

    Fails every time that I retry to install KB5000842.

    CP shows that there was already a KB5000842 installed on 3/23/2021 when it was updated to 19043.899 .

    Something doesn't make sense, was it a different kb5000842 ?  

    Why is it trying to install the same KB5000842 ?  

    No option to uninstall it from the CP, so I will have to restore an older 19043 or 19042 to get this update to work.

    Clean Installed 19043 in the RP vm. I removed the Enablement kb5000736 to use WU for RP. Not a chance. Putting this one back to snapshot of 19043.

    @Eddie, would you explain why on Insider Download Page, 19043.867 ISO is available for RP while Beta still has older ISO of 19043.844.  More MS secrecy  ;-)

    Edit: Would MS kindly start including extension numbers for ISO downloads for Insider and MCT. We would know if image has been updated at a glance. Appreciated if someone from MS listens.

    That error generally occurs when you make unsupported modifications to the system.

    Thanks for your response.

    By the same method, I could install the KB patch that brought my build to 19043.899 but I could not install the KB patch that would bring my build to 19043.906. 

    Moreover, the two patches have the same KB number.

    Therefore, I don't understand what kind of unsupported modification I could have made to my PC between the two KB patches.

    Could you please elaborate ?
