Steam client broken after updating to Windows Tech Preview Build 9879

It would appear that the latest build of the windows technical preview has caused some serious stability issues for Steam users.

As we all know, this is a big reason why many people use Windows for their desktop PC. To stably play games =)

I ask that the Microsoft  OS engineers please try to track down whatever changes they've introduced with this latest build so that we can once again  have the ability to use Steam.

Symptoms: While playing games via steam ( including the two most widely played steam games, Dota2 and CS:GO ) the steam client will randomly crash. The process will completely die and there will be no trace left in the steam client application logs. As a result of steam dying your game will almost instantly end as well. This issue is present in both Steam and steam beta clients.

I hope there is a solution here. Granted this is a free technical preview, but for me it just became a lot less useful.

    Strange thing. I have been gaming today again without any crash together with that mate who is on TP. A few hours csgo competitive, ut2004 and asseto corsa.

    I found out that around the time I opted into steam beta, windows also silently installed an update. Maybe someone who still experiences the issue wants to give it another shot with DEP disabled?

    I know that my mate got a FX8350 with ssd.

    I'm on dual x5690, 32GB, raid 0, unsigned driver for gtx750ti and unsigned SB zxr driver.

    I tried everything I think.. Fresh steam, beta steam, fresh games, fresh drivers, old drivers, new drivers, beta drivers, amd gpu and nvidia gpu, formatting and os-reinstall.

    It Works om 8.1 and om pre-9879 builds, but 9879 breaks it. So now Im om 8.1 till its confirmed fixed.. Cant waste any more time.

    I think on average I was able to play from anything between 10 and 80mins.. Mostly 20-40mins.

    For me, it crashes about 2-5 times uring and Match Making-match in CS:GO.

    System:

    AMD FX-8350 8x@4.0Ghz

    16GB Corsair 1600Mhz

    Gigabyte GTX 760 OC

    OCZ Agility 128GB SSD

    Weird, I been playing some steam games for extended periods of time without hitting this issue.

    How long do you guys think its taking before its crashing for you? my average play time before exiting my game is between 45 mins and 1.5 hrs.

    And random question, but have you tried a fresh re-install of Steam? like uninstalling / reboot / re-install?

    Don't think its the hardware the cause, but here is my info if anyone is curios. Feel free to share your system specs.

    Core I7 / 16gb Ram / HD 7970 in xfire
