Windows 11 kicked me out of WIP on Windows 11.

Hi all.

Today I went to Settings > ... > Windows Insider Program page.

There I was asked to restart the PC.

After I restarted, I saw that I was left out of the Windows 11 Insider Program.

Now I am asked to install Windows 10 and then rejoin the Windows Insider Program Release Preview Channel.

So I understand now it is just about time to say good-bye to my Insider Colleages on Windows 11.

    Hi suat,

In case you are interested, I will tell you what I have been doing in VM.

I made a Windows 7 x64 Pro VM legally activated with a valid key. I cloned it, downloaded MCT and made it W10 21H1. Then I cloned that one, applied the patches and made it W10 21H2 RP. Then I cloned that one, clean installed Windows 11 build .176 and joined Beta. Finally, I cloned that one too, clean installed 22449.1000 and joined Dev.

In other words, from a single Windows 7 installation, I was able to create 4 legally activated VMs 😁

On a different note, Johnny or regular users of VMware probably know about this.

I came across a VMware free easy to use utility called vCenter Converter Standalone that allows you to convert any physical machine into a VM, but it doesn't carry over the activation of the original machine. 😞

    Hi Pauli,

Thank you very much for your kind help. It is very much appreciated.

Maybe there is something wrong with my system, Host M/C. Both host M/C and guest VM have Windows 11 Pro edition. So that should not be the issue.

    Have a nice Sunday.

"I will untick User Session, if that's what you mean."

That's not necessary to untick. It just start VM automatic in Enhanced mode if it's working at all.

It's been 4 - 5 years since I actively use virtual machines with enhance mode so I don't remember all requirements.

One thing that can prevent enhanced mode is using Home edition as quest OS in VM.

"Enhanced session mode isn't available for generation 1 (unless Windows 10 Pro, Education, or Enterprise) virtual machines"

If you look again my screenshot I have enable Enhanced mode under "Server" in Hyper-V settings menu.

Your screenshot show selection under "User" which use enhanced mode automatic, if its enabled on that another setting.

No need to turn any additional features On/Off.

    Hi Pauli,

In my Hyper-V Manager, both Enhanced Session Modes, Server and User, are ticked. I happened to show User Session. I will untick User Session, if that's what you mean.

    Thanks.

Edit: I unchecked User Session Mode but the icon is still grayed out. Maybe this is a quirk of Windows 11 build 22000.176 because I have started to learn Hyper-V under Windows 11 host machine.
