Feature Update version 20H2 installation stuck at 61%

I recently opted into the WIndows Insider Program as a Beta User, and ever since, the feature update is continuously getting stuck at 61% in installation stage. I have tried troubleshooting, but it doesn't work as well. Is there any solution to this apart from a fresh install? I do not want to reinstall all my programs afresh.

Please remove all instances of the Conexant audio drivers, disable the devices in Device Manager, delete the driver files in File Explorer, then retry the update.

Good to see you have it installed, yes keeping the bios and drivers up to date by checking manually at the manufacturer's web site is best, as the  device manager no longer goes online to search for the latest drivers so don't use that method for checking driver updates.  Even using Windows's update for drivers won't get the best drivers to use sometimes either.

Until they have a fix for Conexant drivers at least you know now how to get around the issue for the next update.

To be clear on the steps:

  1. I remove all the audio devices from here:

Image

  1. download and install the 20H2 update
  2. ?

I leave the UCI64*.dll files were they are?

Thanks for your help and patience :)

  1. Should be Disable the audio devices.
  2. Uninstall the drivers from the devices in step 1.
  3. Check for updates and install the latest version for your device.
  4. Re-enable the disabled devices (if they are not automatically re-enabled).

That should be it.

I have been fighting this problem on my Pro3 for a couple months.  Sticks at 61%.  Two days ago, rather than the Win10 update proggy in Settings, I used the Update Assistant.  The outlook was very good.  However, as the install percentage approached the 90's, it slowed down more and more.  It took a full day to creep up to 98 and then 99%, and then never got to 100%.  I waited over 24 hours for it to finish from 99%, but it never did.  So I restarted and tried to finish with the Win10 update proggy.  Stopped at 61% again.  Restarted and used the Update Assistant, and it INSTALLED!!  Performing an image of the drive now.  So nothing technical here.  Musta got lucky.  Good Luck!!

I have the same issue (stuck at 61%). I tried it a few times but for now I restored to a point from last night and wil not try to install the update again. I do not have the mentioned drivers. I have Realtek drivers and drivers from my monitors NVIDIA High definition Audio (x2). Is anything known about these drivers too?

I also tried to install the update in safe mode but the update segment stayed empty. Build:18362.19h1_release.190318-1202

    Hello keesov,

Not positive if there is anything on those drivers. Had no issue with them myself.

Do you have any 3rd party AV installed? Try clearing out the SoftwareDistribution\Download folder and possibly doing a clean boot to take care of any driver issue:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows

You might want to unplug any external devices plugged into USB other than mouse and keyboard as well.

    Regards,
