Same problem with Build 27695, stuck on Beta after a clean install. 😂🤷♂️
Yep, confirmed! I ended up clean installing 26257 which defaulted to Dev but let me change to Canary. I then used same ISO of 27695 to do a repair install and that remained in Canary.

The widgets icon has now moved to the left of the system tray like in the latest Beta.
The widgets flyout now opens on the right of the screen. 😉
That's on how yours is set up.
It is not that way on mine.
