Widget feature missing in Windows 11

I installed the Intel Driver & Support Assistant. Then I debated whether or not to install the video driver. While waiting and mulling it over, my wifi 5G experienced again an intermittent problem that has existed for months, nothing to do with DSA, and coincidentally DSA suggested a wifi driver update. So I installed that one. Then the 5G would not work at all, so I contacted Dell and they helped me get the old driver back. So I am going wait and not install the video driver - I suppose one must proceed with caution, even if it's Intel! I suppose eventually Microsoft will fix the widget issue. Thank you to all who responded to my inquiry and who help and contribute on this site in general!

Finds, downloads and updates any Intel driver automatically.

About Intel DSA, I have it installed on all my machines and I use it regularly to update Intel drivers.

For several months now it has been causing a problem for ejecting external drives either USB or eSATA.

It does not happen every single time, but often enough to become a nuisance, usually I see the problem after making a backup on an external drive.

The problem has been reported to both Intel and MS, but no fix yet, other users have complained about it.

The culprit can be found by looking in Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> System and it points to

DSAService (32 bit).

When the problem occurs, the workaround is by going to Task Manager and End Task for that service.

After that the eject of the external drive works fine.

Thanks very much!! This tells me there is an update, but warns me that I might not want to mess with the Dell driver, which the Dell updater says is their most current, so I may wait to see if Microsoft or Dell fix this issue with the widgets. They might be fun, but I am reluctant to mess with it. But it also gave me some other updates, so it is a very useful tool. Thanks again for your response!

Thanks for your reply … my GC was updated … I’m using Lenovo Thinkpad and Lenovo Vantage keeps everything up to date …

Widgets came back to work for unknown reason anyways
