File Explorer truncated menu across builds

Split from this thread.

Same problem with 27723.1000. File explorer 3 dots menu opens upward regardless of the position of the window.

It truncates the menu when the window is close to the top of the screen.

Note that the View and the Filter menus open correctly downward, it is only the 3 dots menu that opens in the wrong direction. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Looks like they are propagating bugs from one build to the other instead of propagating fixes. πŸ˜πŸ€¬πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    Hi FG,

Create a new FBH report and I will upvote. I rarely use File Explorer as I use Total Commander. I prefer the dual pane window that MS refuses to offer.

This goes back to my MSdos days using Norton Commander. Not a fan of the Tree Structure.

    Regards,

    Hi Johnny,

I also tried with the Intel display adapter and got the exact same results with Scale 150%. πŸ˜‚

    Same happens with the 1920 x 1080 and 3840 x 2160 screens.

Definitely the scale 150% is not handled correctly even when it is the recommended scale. 🀣🀣🀣🀬

Worked also with Scale 200%. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

    Failed with 125%, 150% and 175%.

    Thanks Johnny,

Just confirmed that, 150% is the recommended scale for my screen and that causes the problem.

I just tried changing to 100% and that works. 🀣

Clearly not a good workaround for my setup. 🀣🀬

Also, the other menus View and Filter always open downwards, why did they screw up the 3 dots menu?

    Hi FG,

You might have something with the 150% scale as that is what I use on my virtual machines. To get the full menu depends on the location of the window of Explorer:

If I move Explorer window to the top of the screen:

Why the menu goes upward makes no sense. This is 23H2 and Menu always goes down as it should on any location of Explorer:

Not the most proficient computer person... does this help?

    Thanks,

Your resolution is different than mine, one thing in common is the scale 150%.

Not sure if that is a factor or not.

I will try changing the scale to see if it has any effect.

It is clear to me that they did not fix all the cases.

I don't have this problem at all with 23H2 and the same hardware and settings. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    Edit:

Yes, we found out that the Scale of 150% is still failing even with the fix announced by MS. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
